It’s Monday so why not set this week of with some ripping Swedish, melodic death metal. “More Swedish melodic death metal, Kevin?” Fuck yes.

Coming in just before the new millennium, melodic death metal had already sunk it’s teeth in and it’s influence had been well established. In They Dreams definitely wear their At the Gates influence on their sleeves but it’s not so straight forward. The insanely fast and catchy guitar work seems reminiscent of what Dawn was doing. Combined with a light, folk inspired overtone, this album moves beyond just simply another melodic death metal band. It’s not a game changer but clocking in at barely 35 minutes, it’s a fucking ripper.
