From the very get go of this album, you are prepared for what is to follow over the course of the next 57 minutes. It’s coming out the tail end that is the real journey. This is soul-draining, dismal, sorrowful funeral doom. Drawn out at almost a snails pace with low, moaning, mournful vocals and church organs that sound anything but uplifting, this album is a wall of sound, dead set to leave you devastated. Like a lot of depressing metal music, I find a glimpse of beauty in the music and there is a little glimmer of that here but mostly it’s just a wrecking ball of depression, which in and of itself, is beautiful.
