I have to admit, going into this I was expecting something, well, bizarre. Granted, the vocals are a bit different for the doom genre, but they aren’t bizarre. I can’t fault them on not being bizarre because that’s my own preconception. That aside, this album is pretty awesome. I mentioned the voice, but that’s just part of the overall, thundering heaviness of this album. The final song, “Cirith Ungol” is a devastatingly heavy, epic, doom stand out. The rest of the album is killer as well. The sound is typical of classic, slower doom but man, does this album just crush that sound.
