Filling in my Electric Wizard gaps, I feel confidant in saying I’m probably ok with what I’ve got from this band. I think with this one, I’ve hit all the major points of their career and have a well rounded grasp on their sound. This is their sophomore album and it’s as skull-rattling, fuzzed out, poundingly heavy as any of their other releases. Not as good as Dopethrone and not as personally interesting to me as Black Masses (the first album of theirs I heard) but it’s a solid entry from a solid band. If you’re not familiar with the stoner/psychedelic side of doom metal, I can’t think of a better introduction band than Electric Wizard.
