It seems Trouble has a sort of classic standing in the doom genre. I have to admit, I was unfamiliar with them before starting this exploration of doom metal. Sure, I had heard the name, but never the music, but based on what little I knew I sort of had an idea of what to expect. I wasn’t far off. Trouble play the classic style of doom pioneered by bands like Black Sabbath and refined by bands like Candlemass. The strength of this band, undoubtedly, is in the guitar work. There’s some truly masterful playing going on here. Other than that, it’s a pretty straight forward, early doom outing.
